Ferlið byrjaði á rannsókn á ljósmyndaverkinu Venus eftir Hörpu Þórsdóttur sem snýst um brenglaðar staðlímyndir kvenna og líkamsímynd.
Ég dró innblástur frá skuggum og súrealískum formum sem einkenna ljósmyndaverkið. Með verkið í huga hóf ég að rannsaka minn eigin líkama og hvað brenglaðar hugmyndir um líkama kvenna hafa mótað skoðun mína á mér.
Ég ákvað að vinna með leður í línunni og hóf að móta form sem mér þótti áhugaverð við minn eigin líkama. Línan sýnir skúlptúr og óregluleg form sameinast líkama og sýna þar af leiðandi nýja lögun líkamans.

The process started with reaserching the project “Venus” by Harpa Þórsdóttir which focuses on the twisted beauty standards towards women.
I drew inspiration from the shadows and surreal proportions that are the main focus of the artwork. Keeping the project in mind I started reaserching my own body and what twisted beauty standards towards women have molded my perception of my own body.
I decided to work with leather in my project and started creating shapes that interested me based on my own body. My work shows sculptures and irregular shapes fuse with a body and therefore creating a new bodily shape.
